Improving Productivity and Quality of Honey Project

As a result of the institution’s excellence in providing its services to the beekeeping and honey production sector. The YFASD received a contract to produce 12,000 modern beehives as a component of the project. The beehives were allocated to the targeted beekeepers in 6 districts within Al Hudaydah Governorate, Yemen. The contract was signed between the YFASD and the Director of the Tihama Development Authority, that was the supervisor for implementation the project. We produced and distributed 3000 beehives in two phases, and we had started to produce the third batch of 1500 beehives, but because of the war, the project suddenly suspended. The project was funded by the World Trade Organization, Geneva, and with foreign supervision from the Kenyan Economic Entomology Institute.
